Around 1947, Mr, Adams' Trappe Canning Co. was growing and freezing Lima beans. A member of the Adams family tells that a certain crop of beans was of such poor quality that they were not suitable for freezing, so Mr. Adams put them in cans and labeled them as "Trappe Creek Brand Green & White Lima Beans". The brand was reportedly created for this crop of beans.
