Doug Sullivan's school bus stopping to discharge
passengers in from of what is now 4168 Main Street,
circa 1952. The bus is a Ford from around 1947. As I
recall, it was a rather uncomfortable conveyance. The
heater only warmed the first couple of seats and the
vacuum windshield wipers only worked going down hill.
Doug never seemed too concerned about the mechanical
condition of the old jalopy, and always delivered us
safely to our destination. We were all delighted when
he pulled up in a brand new bus in 1954. [Robert
