Trappe Feed Service, Inc. The picture was taken on South Main Street from the front porch of W.E. Cryer's previous home looking south/southwest. The picture depicts mules hauling grains into the mill from the fields around Trappe where thrashing machines would have thrashed/bagged the grains. I have no date on the picture but I would guess that it is early to mid 20th century. [above] Submitted by Dale Kirby in the behalf of his parents, Robert "Bobby" and Dorothy Kirby. The Trappe Feed Service, inc. building was subjected to numerous modifications and additions during the last half of the twentieth century. At various times it housed a fertilizer distributor, hardware store, auto repair shop, car dealership, boat dealership, residential apartments, and served as the base of operation for a school bus contractor. The property was the subject of numerous zoning disputes with the Town of Trappe and by 2007 the building had fallen into a severe state of disrepair and was subsequently torn down.
