Bill from Dr. William Seymour to Samuel Barnes dated 1916. Note that
part of the bill was paid for with 5 bushels of corn. This was not at
all unusual especially in a farming community like Trappe (these were
the days before medical insurance was common). Dr. Seymour lived in the
big house on Main St. diagonally across the street from
the Trappe High School. He practiced medicine
in Trappe for 66 years, from 1895 to 1961.
