This is Robert Kirby’s ration and
coupon book. Many things were in short supply
for civilians during WWII including gasoline,
tires, eggs, butter, cheese, tea and coffee,
sugar and many other things. Civilians were
allotted to purchase these items depending on
their need- farmers and some others received
more coupons for gas and tires because they
were helping with the war effort. You might be
allowed to use only 3 coupons per month. Once
you used all your coupons that was it.
