The old Kemp house at 3901 Main St., the frame part of which dates from about 1764 was the home of Dr. Samuel T. Kemp. Dr. Kemp (1795-1856) was one of Trappe's earliest doctors and began his practice about 1826. He is buried in the little Kemp graveyard on the east side of Rt. 50.
